2 Reviews of the Paloma 4 Air
By: JFKK Reason: I've used one Made in: 2017 Rating:
Kampa Paloma 4 airbeam Tent. Blue.
Purchased June 2018. Offer bundle, Tent, footprint, pump, poles for canopy, carpet and porch extension.
Picked the Blue colour as been told blue is less attractive to insects!
Carried out quick build to check all ok and habitable before booking in to a site for a week.
Like the elastic on corners of Footprint help to keep it tight and allow some flexibility of fixing the pegs.
The Plastic pegs are poor quality. And if don’t break putting in they do on removal. Perhaps the sites I’ve been on have exceptionally hard ground. I now use Hard ground metal pegs.
Erecting was easy , roughly pegged out the corners, used a Vango electric pump, while one tube was being inflated I prepared the next tube valve . Gave the Tent a shake with the Guylines on that tube and it just popped up. Zipped up the doors, pegged out the base nice and tight. Like the small triangle fixing on the webbing pegging points.
Completed the guy line fixing , easy no problems so far.
Disappointed the Porch and extension came with Fiberglass poles.
Took me longer to set this up than it took too errect the main tent.
Fiddly putting the poles through the canvas tubes, seemed to catch on each section.
Like the velcro on the ground sheet, for the porch, attaching to the ground sheet of the tent. I put a door mat over this so no chance of tripping.
I continually tripped on the webbing straps on the ground for the poles.
Modified some metal pins to hold down the straps.
The inner tent for the bedroom isn’t very good as a black out.And just long enough for a camp bed. The privacy curtain divider isn’t very effective but as a solo traveller was not an issue for me.
Living in the tent and organisation is up to the Individual but did find the lack of hanging storage pockets an issue.
The carpet runkled in the main area and I have since modified it with elastic round the base of the air tubes and press studs to attach to the carpet
With the main door closed there’s a probel ofthe wind blowing under the door. I madified this with adhesive velcro on the door that attaches to the velcro on the ground sheet. I then stiched the velcro to the door and this stopped the drafts.
Unfortunately I haven’t taken any pictures of my modifications, I will the next trip and post them.
Dismantling ok but packing into bag a struggle but should improve with practice
To sum up I’m pleased with the Tent, the material seems light but strong so I’m happy overall. I can modify it to suit my needs.

Kampa Paloma 4 Air Advantage Inflatable Tent 2017 £525.00
We are a family of four. Went along to CampingWorld tent show in early 2017. Got helpful advice there and was great to see all the tents I was thinking about buying. Hopefully, this one represents a good choice as we only camp a few times each year. I am able to put this up by myself (short 43 yo woman with bad back). It is quite a big tent and takes up a lot of space in car.
Rooms ok for two adults and two kids. Good sized 'living' area and porch - didn't get the optional canopy bit.
Would have liked some inside pockets in the living area like the Hayling. Plastic tent pegs not great, so take some metal pegs along. The bag the tent comes in is really inadequate, so I don't expect it to last long, and it's a very tight squeeze. And perhaps would like to have more fly screen for the bedroom areas. The tent is heavy and I would definitely have liked a wheelie bag. But other than this, I think it offers a lot of good features. It is a good family tent.

Manufacturer's Description
A superb tent packed full of useful features; the Paloma offers a tunnel tent design but in a more compact package.
Weather protected ventilation can be found at the front and rear of the tent and the large front canopy further adds to the space this tent gives you as well as giving you a larger weather protected entrance to the tent.
The spacious living area is further enhanced by the large Crystal Clear windows and mesh side door. If you're in the mood for more privacy, blinds stowed in easy-store pockets beneath the windows can be used to cover the windows.
The daylight panels above the living area allow for a much more natural light to permeate into the tent, whereas the darker materials used at the rear of the tent keeps the sleeping pod darker.
